Welcome Message from the General Co-chairs

On behalf of the organizing committee, welcome to the NIH/IEEE/CaSME 2009 jointly co-sponsored by the IEEE (Circuits and Systems Society), the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics (INAOE), the Texas A&M Analog and Mixed Signal Center, the National Institute of Health (NIH), Biotroniks, Boston Scientific and endorsed by LiSSA (IEEE CAS Life Science System and Applications).

This 2½-day workshop provides a unique forum comprising multidisciplinary groups from circuits and systems, biomedical electronics/technology, and environmental sciences. The goals of this workshop include identifying challenging problems in biomedical electronics/technology and environmental sciences that require multidisciplinary solutions with a circuits and systems perspective, and to provide opportunities for symbiotic research collaborations.  To facilitate this multidisciplinary interaction, international experts from related fields will be invited to address the current and emerging challenges.
