Broadband Communications
|
The huge volume of data transported over the telecommunications and data communications network doubled each year from 1995 to 2001 in the US. The need for broadband communications has risen in response to this data explosion. Our research is mainly focused on the design of telecom and datacom interface CMOS IC which enables high performance systems at data rates up to 10Gbps. The typical applications include Clock and data recovery for optical communications, limiting amplifier, transimpedance amplifier, high speed serializer and deserializer for Sonet/SDH applications and transceiver design for Gigabit Ethernet networks. Phase equalizers as well as wide tuning range phase lock loops and frequencies synthesizers are also studied.
